EPUB to PDF

Got an EPUB ebook but you need it as a PDF? Maybe you want to print it, share it with someone who does not have an ereader, or just prefer the PDF format. Here is how to do it.

Set your expectations right. EPUB is reflowable — it adapts to whatever screen you read it on. PDF is fixed page layout. Converting between them means some formatting will change. Images might shift, table layouts might get simplified, and special fonts might not carry over perfectly. It is normal.

Clean up your EPUB first if you can. If the source EPUB has messy formatting, weird CSS, or broken structure, those problems will carry over into the PDF. A clean, well-formatted EPUB will produce a much better PDF than a janky one.

Check the table of contents after conversion. EPUBs have their own navigation structure that might not translate perfectly to PDF page numbers. Flip through and make sure chapters start where you expect them to. If you need perfect accuracy, you may need to add a PDF table of contents manually.

For long books, consider breaking them into chapters first. Converting a 500-page EPUB is fine, but if you only need certain chapters, save time by working with just those sections. You can always split the PDF after if needed.
